Visual Audit
Visual Audit is a data analytic module that provides graphical displays of user activity within your system. Viewing user activity in a visual audit approach is a whole new way to quickly and easily see user activity, trends, and access patterns.
The Visual Audit displays consists of three primary pages or levels that contain information regarding user activity. Navigation through the Visual Audit pages or levels provides increasing detail pertaining to a specific user, similar to a "drill-down" approach. The pages consist of the User Overview, User Report, and the Daily Overview and are further described below.
How to Access
There are two ways to access the Visual Audit data analytic feature:
- Clicking the "Analytics" tab. This will take you to the User Overview page.
- Clicking the "Analytics" button on the Users table. This will take you to the User Report for that specific user.
Date Ranges
By default, the Visual Audit module displays data for user activity over the last three months. This can be changed by modifying the values found in the date range text fields, found at the top right of the page.
Display ICONs
Located on the top of each of the graphs, several icons are shown that indicate or provide additional information.
- When an "arrow" icon is shown, indicates that a specific data item on the graph (bar, dot, etc.) can be selected to show additional user detail.
- When a "heart" icon is shown and selected, the graph can be selected and pinned to your Dashboard page.
- When the "information icon" is shown and selected, more information about the graph is described.
User Overview - First Page Display
The User Overview displays two graphs. The first graph displays the most active users in your system based upon total activity (authorized and unauthorized) and the second graph displays users with the most unauthorized activity. You can view additional information about a specific user by clicking on the user's bar graph (drill-down). This will take you to the User Report page for the selected user.
When a graph contains a large number of records, you can use the left and right arrows on either side of the graph to show the next or previous section of data.
